Health and Workplace Project Team
Main Objectives:
- To increase the understanding of family violence in the health sector and to make the connection between family violence and health issues.
- To increase intervention/response and understanding of how family violence impacts employees and employers in the workplace.
Activities have included the development of a protocol for the Northeast Health Centre, researching the cost of services for abused women, and developing a resource binder on family violence and resources for physicians and nurses.
The Team consists of people interested in supporting the development of protocols within health care services and workplaces. Currently the Team is blended but as the work progresses it may be more feasible to have seperate project teams.
