Bullying Prevention Project Team
The CIAFV Bullying Prevention Project Team was formed in 2005. It is the only venue for agencies providing information and/or services to address bullying to meet, share information and work in a collaborative and coordinated manner to ensure delivery of relevant, helpful services and address gaps in Edmonton and area. The Project Team maintains connections with the Provincial Family Violence Prevention, Bullying and Youth Strategies Branch, Cross-Ministries, and the Provincial Bullying Help Line staff.
The Team organized forums on March 20, 2009, "Approaches and Solutions to Bullying Behaviour", and March 16, 2011, "Educators are Resourceful Spirits: Open Ears Open Hearts", and is using the information gathered to inform and guide the Team's work over the next few years through a Strategic Plan. In 2009-2010 the Team organized three funding collaboration meetings with stakeholders and a Lunch and Learn "Making Bullying Everyone's Business: An Organization-Wide Approach to Addressing Child/Youth Bullying" .The Team also organized an Agency Resource Fair on November 9, 2011 geared towards supporting child care and after school care staff. The Team regularly collects and disseminates promising practice, research and resource information to interested stakeholders through an email distribution list. The Team also collects and distributes information and activities related to Bullying Awareness Week each November.
The Project Team meets 9:00 - 11:00 AM on the first Tuesday of each month. Locations vary.
