Protocols:

Family Violence protocol development is part of a larger coordinated, community response to family violence within Edmonton and Area. CIAFV has been assisting agencies/organizations to develop protocols since 2001.

Family Violence protocols:
  • Provide a platform for agencies/organizations to determine their mandate regarding family violence intervention.
  • Create a document that has buy-in from management and staff.
  • Clarify the roles and responsibilities of staff within the agency.
  • Develop a consistent process for intervention that reduces confusion and frustration for clients and staff.
  • Make it easier for other agencies to refer to your services because they know that you have a protocol.

The Protocols Coordinator works with agencies on a fee for service basis to develop the protocol by consulting with the agency to determine their intervention process, writing the document, providing samples from other agencies and assisting with training.

If you are interested in developing a family violence protocol, please contact us. Limited subsidies available.
